23 June – CDR Webinar with Q&A

With 113 participants – including CDOP managers and administrators as well as paediatricians and designated doctors – NCMD’s June webinar offered an opportunity for professionals from across the Child Death Review process to hear the latest from NCMD regarding child death review data. However, as importantly, with a large portion of the event dedicated to a live Q&A, it also offered an opportunity for professionals to raise a range of questions that were pertinent to them, and to take part in a two-way discussion about these issues.

Hosted by UCL Partners and presented by one of NCMD’s Managers, Vicky Sleap, the webinar featured a presentation on the latest information around what happens with the data that CDR professionals provide, and the impact it is having during the current COVID-19 pandemic (notably in its use in a real-time surveillance system). Other subjects raised were varied, and include:

  • Terminations of pregnancies, unattended stillbirths and pre-viable gestation babies
  • Local and regional themed CDOPs meetings
  • Swabs, and what to request and when, and
  • Notifications – what to include and issues around notification forms.

Listen again: A recording of this webinar (and a copy of Vicky Sleap’s presentation) is available to those working in the sector; please contact us by email if you would like a copy.
