Webinar, 26 January 2021

Many thanks to everyone who attended our most recent webinar on the impact of CDR data during the COVID-19 pandemic, which took place on 26 January 2021 – over 200 people from across the sector took part!

Featuring a presentation by NHS England’s Professor Simon Kenny (National Clinical Director, Children and Young People), this webinar provided an update on the value of prompt and complete child death data during the COVID-19 pandemic. Professor Kenny specifically acknowledged the key part that all CDR professionals played in getting this essential data over to NHS England – via NCMD’s rapid surveillance process – and its resultant positive impact on public health messaging and NHS strategy.

NCMD’s Vicky Sleap then provided a short update on NCMD’s up-and-coming activities and other key information such as the deadline for submission of CDR data in 2021 (31 March 2021).

There was also an opportunity to pose questions direct to Professor Kenny as part of a live Q&A session; and this resulted in questions on a broad range of topics including discussions on overall deaths, SUDI deaths and deaths by suicide during the pandemic.

Listen again: A recording of this webinar is sent to all attendees, but is also available to anyone working in the sector; please contact us by email if you would like a copy.

Date for your diary: Our next webinar will be on the subject of How to complete a good reporting form, and will be on Tuesday 23 March (10.30-11.45am). Further information can be found here.
