Frankie Grogan experienced sudden and unexplained death in childhood in 2019 at the age of three. In this video, his mum Sarah talks about her experience with her GP at the time, and explains which aspects of the support she received were most helpful.

Sarah and husband James went on to learn that Frankie’s death had been caused by a hippocampal malformation, a neurological condition that can lead to seizures. Together they established Friends of Frankie, an organisation that raises money for charity SUDC UK.

We’re grateful to the team at SUDC UK for putting us in touch with Sarah, to Sarah and her family for working with us on filming this video, and for staff at a range of NHS Foundation Trusts who supported us with the footage.
