Child Mortality & Deprivation

The new issue of Public Sector Focus has now been published and includes an exclusive article on NCMD’s thematic report on child mortality and deprivation. This publication goes out to decision-makers in the NHS, local authorities, central government and education.

The article highlights NCMD’s call to those involved in planning and delivering services to children to use the data in the report to develop strategies to reduce social deprivation and inequality.

“As a society it is incumbent upon us to learn from these tragedies and to identify ways in which we can change things to reduce the number of children who die in the future” Karen Luyt, Professor of Neonatal Medicine, University of Bristol and NCMD Programme Lead
